Volunteer Position: Vacuum The 5 Points Arena Loft

 

Date/Time 

o   Monday, September 29th Need 1 volunteer

o   10am-12pm

 

· Check-In:  

·         You will check in with Tina Thuernagle, Director of Operations, At the Nebraska State Fair Shop.

·         Nebraska State Fair Shop is located on State Fair Blvd. If you come into the grounds off south locust, to State Fair Blvd, first red building on the right.

 

· Location: 5 Points Arena Loft

 

· Responsibilities:  You will use a State Fair Vacuum to vacuum the 5-points arena loft.  There will be cocktail tables and chairs that will need to be moved as vacuuming. Maximum weight is 10 pounds. Directions and examples with be provided.

 

· Requirements:

·         Indoors

·         Moving around cocktail tables and chairs

·         Maximum weight on tables and chairs is 10 pounds

 

· Check-Out:

·         Volunteers do need to check out at Nebraska State Fair Shop

Volunteer Position:Taking down Broiler Chicken Display in Expo

 

· Date/Time  

o   Monday, September 29th Need 2 volunteeers

o   9am-12pm

· Check-In:  

·         You will check in with Tina Thuernagle, Director of Operations, At the Nebraska State Fair Shop.

·         Nebraska State Fair Shop is located on State Fair Blvd. If you come into the grounds off south locust, to State Fair Blvd, first red building on the right.

 

· Location: Pinnacle Expo Building

 

· Responsibilities:  You will be disassembling roughly 20 empty bird cages and stacking them in the designated area in the Expo Building. Also folding up 12 8 ft banquet tables and putting them on a pallet. Sweeping up any bedding that is on the floor and putting in a trash receptacle.  use a State Fair Vacuum to vacuum the 5-points arena loft.  Directions and examples with be provided.

 

· Requirements:

·         Indoors

·         Lifting of maximum 50lbs

·         Bring Gloves

 

· Check-Out:

·         Volunteers do need to check out at Nebraska State Fair Shop

Volunteer Position: Aksarben Livestock Quiz Bowl Contest

 

· Date/Time  

o   Friday, September 26th

o   8am-2pm

 

· Check-In:  

Bosselman Conference Center by 8am

 

· Location:

Bosselman Conference Center – South side of Heartland Events Center

 

· Responsibilities:

o    Opportunities to be (2) scorekeepers, (1) time keeper, and (2) room monitors

 

· Requirements:

·         Indoors or Outdoors: Indoors

·         Lifting Requirements: None

·        Jobs will vary between sitting and standing.

·        Must be comfortable working with groups of kids.

·        Very fast paced.

 

· Check-Out:

·         Volunteers do not need to check out at VHQ as the new system will automatically check you out.

Volunteer Position: Aksarben Livestock Judging Contest Group Leader

 

· Date/Time  

o   Sunday, September 28th

o   Need 5 volunteers 7:30am-12pm

 

· Check-In:  

Thompson Foods Indoor Arena

 

· Location:

Thompson Foods Indoor Arena

 

· Responsibilities:

o    Leading groups of competitors from one class to another

o    Collecting cards

o    Acting as card runners for tabulation

 

· Requirements:

·         Indoors or Outdoors: Indoors

·         Lifting Requirements: None

·        This job will be mainly standing.

·        Must be comfortable in large groups.

 

· Check-Out:

·         Volunteers do not need to check out at VHQ as the new system will automatically check you out.

Volunteer Position: Aksarben Livestock Judging Contest – Reasons

o   Need 4 volunteers 12pm-5pm

 

· Check-In:  

At Barr Middle School

 

· Location:

Barr Middle School

 

· Responsibilities:

o    Monitoring the oral reasons portion of the contest

o    Helping direct youth where to go

 

· Requirements:

·         Indoors or Outdoors: Indoors

·         Lifting Requirements: None

·        This job will be mainly standing.

·        Must be comfortable in large groups.

 

· Check-Out:

·         Volunteers do not need to check out at VHQ as the new system will automatically check you out.
